Mike Stevenson“Pete is a hilarious comedian who I have seen in action on many occasions. He is a very likeable and talented young man who can alter his act to suit the audience, a rare talent indeed. His ‘This is your life’ for me was so funny but also very moving and something I’ll always remember. It’s nice to listen to a comedian who can make people laugh without being rude or offensive”.

More about Pete

Having entered planet earth at the Royal Naval hospital in Gibraltar, Pete spent his early years alongside the renowned barbary apes on the famous rock.

It was a big wrench to leave for the cosmopolitan lights of Halifax in West Yorkshire, but the apes soon got over it. He still gets postcards from a couple of them to this day!

Pete left school with 4 'O' Levels and holes in his trousers and teeth, he didn't have a clue what he wanted to do. He always enjoyed talking and having banter with people.

He decided to embark on a sporting career but sadly the coach of his local rugby team never picked him. Several jobs followed but Pete’s problem was that he couldn’t keep his mouth shut.

Testimonials

"Being our inaugural Sportsman's Dinner we were somewhat heading in to the unknown when we booked our Guest Speakers. We needn't have worried though, Master of Ceremonies Pete Emmett was absolutely top class and ensured the entire evening ran like clock work.

Pete took all of the trepidation away with his light hearted and jovial banter throughout the event and then finished things off with one of the funniest and most memorable hours of comedy you could ever wish to see. One of our dinner guests asked me afterwards; "Why isn't this Emmett chap a regular on TV?", which I think sums up perfectly just how well Pete went down with those in attendance.

A top bloke and hilarious comedian, we'll be delighted to welcome Pete back to future GCC events; that's if he's not too busy with his TV commitments of course!"

Eddie Gibbs (Chairman, Glenrothes Cricket Club) March 2013
